What if I told you that you have it within you to work with your fears around public speaking?

What if I told you that we don't need to have absence of "fears" to be a great public speaker and to feel confident and at ease at your next big presentation?

What would you say to that?

After delivering hundreds of speeches and presentations over the last 15 years and having coached hundreds of people overcome this fear, I have come to the conclusion that the foundation for this work is mindset training.

If we change the way we view and approach confidence and communication, we change the way we communicate forever.

So, today, I want to share with you three lessons around shifting our mindset and communicating with confidence.

  1. Release Perfection Greater confidence does not come from having "perfect speech" or "knowing every single detail or answer". It comes from an inner assurance that I may not be perfect and that's alright. It comes from releasing the need to be perfect as a speaker.
  2. Remember Impermanence Greater confidence comes when we remember that no one speech, one presentation or one opportunity is going to make or break our lives, even if it feels like that sometimes. Everything is temporary and everything changes.
  3. Embrace Connection Greater confidence comes when we shift the focus from us to others. Sometimes we can get too self-focused. "What if I fail?" "What if I forget?" "What if I do a bad job?" Well, so what? We will survive that. It's not about us at all. Most communication is about connecting with others. We are after all, 1 out of 8 billion people!

I sometimes hear people saying, "They can't change the way we speak." or "They can NEVER deliver a speech."

It is time to challenge and change our limiting thoughts.

It is time to shift the way we view confidence and communication.

Who knows what can happen when you allow your mind and your actions to be changed?

Have you considered that?
