What I have learned from my latest music project of setting up two rock concerts in Vietnam and how things can get wrong?

I always had a dream to perform on stage. My last time on stage as a music player on French horn was with the local city Orchestra in my home town in Israel when I was 14. It was in the City with outside crowd at the national event and I didn’t think that anyone really cares or paid attention to the marching orchestra on stage. For me, it was a undeniable life event. I still remember the thrill.
I wasn’t raised as a musician house except my father was playing trumpet on a wedding Band (wouldn’t call it a pro at that time) but music was sounded me.
It was Jazz from Ella Fitzgerald , Billy Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Sinatra, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Miles David the geniuses and of course Aretha franklin. Ray Charles was discovered later with Elvis that always astonished me with his stage presence. Nothing like him, that anyone saw before. Sure he took a lot from chuck berry and more but he made his own without doubt.Folk and Rock music came later. Dylan, McCartney, Harrison, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Dire straits, Hendrix, Nina Simon, Willie Nelson, The stones and Clapton are still my huge heroes. We were running out of school watching the “The Last Walze” of Martin Scorsese the legend documentary music movie director more then 25 times.
I still feel the excitement when Dylan and the Band step on stage. My Vinyl records collections from those years is still my most important beloved items.
Seeing great musicians on stage still feel like something was burning inside of me. Being the backstage guitar player for Dylan, Mark Knolfler, Bruce Springsteen or Eric Clapton for me was a dream. I have always had the feeling that you have to be born in the US somewhere in NY, Chicago or Nashville to be someone of the world music scene.
This is true for those years when having a phone line at your house took more then a year and connection to the other world was something like an operation. Luckily I had a chance to watch my idols playing on stage concerts around the world.
Perhaps the best thing about the rock scene today, is that band popularity begins within the industry, gaining popularity the best way. Some make it to main stream and others become part of rock & roll fame tearing up festivals stage.
HCM City has a very limited venue for music and rock performances, a city with 8 Million population having a very few music arena that can host rock concerts. The audience is still very limited and the foreign community is not that large.
So, six months ago I was decided to take this project and the first thing I did was to apply directly to one of the great rock folk, a young promising musician from Israel “Geva Alon” and I follow his music during the last few years. Geva belong to those talented artist and guitar players that you cant ignore from the moment you listen to the first chord. He is having growing path career and certainly one of my recent great discovery .
I always thought that the greatest tragedy is when you don’t try something but I realised it is not.
So I have decided to follow one of my dreams to complete during 2016 setting up a rock concerts in Vietnam. I just connect directly to Geva and met him. It was one of the most skeptical face I got from someone ever in my life. He was asking me tens of times are you really sure about it . So, why do you need it ? Because I truly believe that you have to follow your desire undertaking the actions that makes your heart beat. You can stay at home and never go out or you can enter the world and have unexpected, great experiences, but you'll be exposed to greater danger. Life is a risk. If you're playing it safe, it's pretty damn boring.
Few life lessons to learn from Everything
There are lots of uncertain within any new project you decide to yield. You can’t predict it. Having trust yourself that you can cope with any change go for it and be courageous.
Risk is all around us. When we encounter potential points of failure, we're faced with risk. And risk is a must to be successful, life itself is a risk, the desire to do something for the first time--to make a difference.
When you come up with a good story present it clearly and nicely, you will be surprised how well people will react and support you along the way.
You have the strength; you only need to realised it?—?and to take that leap. I think that being ambitious is the most powerful thing in the world. If you worry too much about becoming successful, you risk doing things because you think that they’ll make you successful and not because you actually want to do them. And you’ll fail. Because the real obstacle that stops us from moving forward has nothing to do with failure.
If you do something newsworthy it will spread online, amongst users first and the news media last.Look inward, not outward. If it feels good to you, do it.News is an on demand item online. And people are going to Facebook to get it, not the homepage of the vaunted periodical. Carefully plotted media campaigns can be executed, but they rarely achieve their goals.
Music is personal. It evidences the thoughts, feelings and identity of the creator. People look to music to not only to inspire them, but to educate them.
