What I discovered at PCMA Convening Leaders in Columbus, OH

Congratulations to our partner,?Experience Columbus, and all the work everyone in Columbus, Ohio did to welcome PCMA Convening Leaders 2023!?This was my first trip to the area and it did not disappoint.?From the ease of getting a taxi at the airport (no line, 10-minute ride and just $25) to dozens of dining and entertainment options within 0.5 miles of the headquarter hotels, to all the unique venues for off-sites, Columbus truly kept us well hydrated, fed and entertained for the 4 days we were there.

Some local favorites include:?The Alibi Bourbon & Cocktail Lounge?where I tried some new drinks,?Bareburger – Short North?where I enjoyed a delicious burger and fries with every topping and meat or plant-based option imagined, the meatball at?Marcella’s?was recommended by the front desk agent at check-in and it was every bit as good as she described, and the?North Market Farmer’s Market?has a little of everything including bagels and coffee; all of these are located on or just off of High Street.?While there is no national chain convenience store right on High Street, there is a Nielsen’s Store located at the Hyatt Regency end of the convention center and it had the no-show socks and Band-Aids I desperately needed – among several cute gifts and other necessities. (Thank you, Taylor Savage at Experience Columbus?for directing me there)

PCMA Convening Leaders 2023 certainly inspired attendees to?Ignite Your Path?this year.?I love attending this annual event to not only connect face-to-face with industry friends of many years, but also to make new connections.?In addition, the education helps to challenge to think differently, and shows me new ways to outline a better strategy and action plan for the year ahead.?I always learn something new and am reminded of good ideas and habits, and this year Daniel Pink introduced the power of drafting a “To-Don’t” List.

In 2023, I want to be a more effective leader, increase the quality and quantity of my team contributions, as well as be a better wife, mother and friend.?There were many great takeaways and practices I plan to adopt – several of them are inspired by the quotes above.?I even have some accountability buddies with already scheduled appointments planned periodically over the next 90 days.?If you want to talk through any of these quotes, other ideas shared at PCMA CL or if you need an accountability buddy to keep you on track, let me know – I am happy to support you in your journey to?Ignite Your Path and have the best 2023 possible too!
