What I can do for you as a digital marketer

Finding My Value as a Marketer
Before this (my final) quarter of school, I had a good base of general knowledge on consumer behavior, business development, and brand management, as well as some hands-on experience with social media, but I never really saw how these nebulous concepts would apply to the day-to-day of a marketing job. Thankfully, this quarter in #wwudigimark allowed me to talk to experts, and see exactly what various fields of marketing really look like.
Seeing the actual work people in marketing do has made me realize the things I bring to the table, and that everything I've learned really does have purpose.
The Idea of a T-Shaped Marketer
A T-Shaped marketer is someone who possesses a broad range of marketing knowledge and skills (the horizontal bar of the T) while also having expertise in a specific area (the vertical bar of the T). I believe I have an excellent framework to become a strong example of this. My general knowledge from my degree in marketing, paired with my minor in business analytics gives me a strong theoretical background, that can support the harder skills that generally make up the top of the T, those being Analytics, Inbound, SEO, PPC, Social, Email, Coding, and UI/UX.

I already have some of these skills developed, namely working with organic social media, and some paid, however others still need more development, such as inbound and email marketing. As I work on that, I want to develop a sense of a path I want to develop down.
Developing the | of the T
Currently, I've been looking towards either SEO, or UX as my areas of interest, though I want to get more hands-on experience in all areas. Specifically with UX, I have gotten some practice working with Figma for personal projects, but haven't had an opportunity to apply it to anything else, though I'm sure doing so will help me learn much more.
The idea of creating experiences and thinking about the way that others interact with and see the world, and products, is incredibly satisfying to me. I enjoy the challenge of relating to others in that way, and want to improve that skill in order to help others enjoy the things they interact with more.
Because learning is such an enjoyable experience for me, I don't ever see myself being satisfied and "done" developing these skills, and marketing really provides limitless directions to improve in.
