What I am contributing on Earth Day 2021 - a Carbon Self-Evaluation initiative

We all, hopefully, appreciate the seriousness of the challenges humanity and the planet face from a climate and sadly many other perspectives. At the start of 2021 I wanted to make a difference - not only from a personal but also professional perspective. Through work I have been doing as a Board Advisor to Projecting Success I was introduced to the Project Data Analytics Task Force who have a mission to use data to transform project performance. As well as the existing multiple workstreams the task force wanted to align around the theme of NetZero to help prioritise efforts. The option of developing a Carbon Self-Evaluation was chosen which will help practitioners to make a difference in their own sphere of influence. The initiative will answer the following questions:

• As professionals in the projects world what can we do in our own sphere of influence?
• How well are we doing and what can done to make the biggest impact?
• What impact are the myriad of strategies and policies around NetZero having on what we do and how we do it?

There are multiple strands which are now being developed around COP26 in November. Our objectives are to:

1. Stimulate and motivate
2. Capture and share wisdom
3. Empower through information
4. Prioritise the Task Force workstreams

The initiative was launched on the 25th March as part of the Project Data Analytics Task Force conference. Below is a 7 minute extract describing the initiative.
