What is Hub?What does it use for?

This May I entered into a totally new industry-consumer electronics,and our products-hub is just a small branch belongs to its category.Well,hub,you can also heard people call them “dock”.a Our research depart manager told us that hubs we called is actually called dock.The device that only with USB ports called hubs.While besids USB ports,there are also HDMI ports,RJ45 ports and other ports,called”Dock”.However, I checked on many website Amazon,Ebay,Walmart or brand website,most of them call hubs.You can also see dock in the title.It’s doesn’t matter,let’s just call them hubs.

OK,Now we learned the name.But what does hub use for?It helps to connect laptop or tablet to peripherals like keyboard,mouse,flash drive,Ethernet Gigabit,big monitor,etc.Nowadays,many and many laptops persue extremely thin ,light,they remove the USB A ports,HDMI ports,RJ45 ports,etc,just preserve a type c ports and charge ports.that’s why hub appears
