What will be hot in L&D in 2016?

Each year I try to do something similar.
Each year I run a one-question, one-minute online poll asking what L&D professionals think will be hot in L&D in the following year. This doesn't necessarily reveal what will be hot, it's what I call 'sentiment analysis'. It enables us to see what people in the industry think is important - and that in itself can be revealing.
For example, video dropped from 5th position in 2014 to 8th in 2015. Was that because video was suddenly less important? I doubt it. It's much more likely that video was no longer seen as 'hot'. It has entered the main stream of L&D practice.

8 年We need to define L&D and separate capability to grow investments from compliance/tick-the-box initiatives. My top 3 were Deeper Consulting (read Performance Consulting), Collaborative Learning (read KM, Social Networks) and Show Value (not the Kirkpatrick way).

8 年For me it is not Gamification or Social Learning- it is about whether L&D can add business value outside of ROI and ROE and structure align to the business to drive real value. L&D have to be embedded into the business and not seen as a separate entity. What great business value stories will we have in 2016 where investing more in L&D is a no brainer, compared to - how do we cut, refine or streamline....
