What is hope?

Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Romans 5:1-2

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

Romans 15:13

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Deuteronomy 31:6

"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Psalm 130:5

"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope"

Proverbs 23:18

"Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off."

Job 11:18

And you will feel secure, because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security."

We may feel some uncertainty as we enter 2021, but we have an anchor and assurance, that even as we face difficulties, sickness and pain, God promises to be with us.

God will strengthen us. God will heal our wounds. God will meet all of our needs - whether physical, emotional or spiritual.

We have no reason to fear, but all reason to live in hope.

Let us encourage one another. Strive not to be the cause of division. Serve our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ in love. Testify about the grace, mercy and goodness of God. Spread the message of salvation to unbelievers. Encourage those in distress. Inspire the luke warm. Pray without ceasing. And continually have songs and praises to our Lord on our lips.
