What an honour!

Wow the 3rd session of the presentation bootcamp started with a special guest:

D K joined our group for an intense Q&A session - he's a recent TEDx speaker (check out his "the public speaking lesson you never got" talk https://youtu.be/xSp78RwcAS4) plus decade long licensee of TEDxWellington (in the capital city of New Zealand) and currently a speaker coach, helping leaders deliver impressive presentations (https://justadandak.com)

He not only managed to help everyone with very detailed answers to their questions but inspired everyone with his spirit, ideas to include new presentation technologies as well as his personal approaches to face certain challenges of public speaking.

Let me just share one feedback I got from the group that probably reflects it very well:

After this impressive and inspiring discussion we continued with the next task for the group.

This time I was attempting again to push the participants out of their comfort zone. Challenging the speakers with probably one of the most difficult tasks: presenting unprepared. I decided to have the exercise in this round a little more aligned with what everyone is used to and start with Powerpoint Karaoke. I know some prefer the Toastmaster approach of e.g. table topics, but we started easy here.

The feedback I got on this was beside that is was fun, it helped participants to reduce their fear of getting on stage unprepared, practice improvisation and trains the brain.
