Oftentimes I hear people talk about Web3 where others join in on the conversation and ask- what was web1?
Web 1.0, Web 2.0, and Web 3.0 are different stages of the evolution of the World Wide Web. Here are some of the key differences between these three:
Web 1.0:
Web 1.0, also known as the "read-only" web, refers to the early days of the Internet when websites were static and primarily provided information to users. This was a one-way communication where users could only read and navigate through web pages but could not interact with the content.
Web 2.0:
Web 2.0 is often referred to as the "read-write" web or the social web. This stage of the internet's evolution saw the emergence of user-generated content and a more interactive and participatory web. Web 2.0 technologies and applications allowed users to interact with content and with each other.

Web 3.0:
Web 3.0 is the latest stage of the internet's evolution, often referred to as the "intelligent" web or the semantic web. It builds on the concepts of Web 2.0 and aims to create a more intelligent and personalized web experience for users. Web 3.0 is characterized by the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and semantic technologies.
Overall, Web 1.0 was focused on creating a web presence, Web 2.0 was focused on creating a web community, and Web 3.0 is focused on creating a more intelligent and connected web experience.
