Friend of a friend gave this report (part 1)
So, many of my friends have different points of view than I. I respect that. I work with you. I'd drop everything at the drop of hat for anyone who asks, whether I agree with you or not. I try not to get into politics, unless I feel someone is being treated unfairly. A friend asked me to go to the rally in DC. Not me to be political, but I wanted to see for myself what is really going on. Am I right to disbelieve everything I see in the media? Should I stop being cynical and be swayed to new views? I went. I was really surprised to find out 7 buses were heading from our park n ride. People actually going to stand up for what they believe? Everyone friendly. Everyone sharing what they brought. We got to DC. I was blown away by the massive numbers of people who came together for a cause. Wow. Signs. Posters. Flags. People.Tons of people. No one pushing. No one shoving. People came in droves. We couldn't get very far. People helped each other and happily told others there was no room toward the Elipse. People were climbing trees to see. Reminded me of Zaccheus in the Bible. People clearing paths for people in wheelchairs. People happily stepping aside for each other. Everyone sharing the food they brought with the strangers around them. Most were there looking for honesty and protecting the Bill of Rights. Not fighting. Asking for truth. All of us can agree, things in politics are not honest. On a cold day in Jan, I stood in awe of the number of people who believe in this country. In the right to come stand up for what they believe. To peacefully assemble.

3 年Thanks for posting, Roger. I had personal friends and co-workers, professionals, who were there too and gave a very similar accounting for the day, with pictures of the peaceful crowds surrounding them, some of their family, and friends. It’s so sad that the msm/clm are able to decieve so many. But Jesus reigns and His plan & purpose is still somehow being brought about! We just need to keep focused on Him and sharingHis message of redemption!

3 年drinking sheep made it sound it sound like it was an Earth Day celebration from 1973 instead of what it was - anarchy. If anyone believes even one word of this then I have some great land in Florida I swear is not under water that I would love to sell you.

3 年Are you kidding me? This “account” from a “friend of a friend” is the greatest work of fiction ever written. I hope he sold the rights to his fairy tale to Hollywood so this can be made into the greatest fantasy film ever. I’m mad as hell. I’m furious that a riotous, angry & fueled by hatred mob stormed & then proceeded to desicrate the US Capitol building, one of the most hallowed & sacred places in this land. In the process they murdered a Capitol Police officer who was doing what he swore an oath to do. In the process, these Trump cultists filmed themselves with their phones and then were stupid beyond belief by posting their footage to the internet for all the world to see - so don’t even try to give me the bullshit that this footage is “fake news” propagated by the media that you don’t believe. It’s their footage of them acting like the animals they turned into. Anyone not outraged by what happened on Wednesday doesn’t even have a clue as to what it means to be an American. This Kool -Aid

3 年Part 2 People flew in from all over the country. People around us made new friends. People sang God Bless America and Proud to Be an American. People listened to our President encourge people to look for truth and honesty in a peaceful way. To walk to the Capitol. People then moved toward the Capitol. The crowd around us was peaceful and very friendly. I was blown away by the way everyone got along. The walk had humor. Like when everyone laughed and jokingly boo-ed at the IRS building. When we got to the Capitol, the crowd was gathering and a few people were already coming back from in front of the bldg and spoke of tear gas but no one knew where it came from. I walked towards the bldg but opted to stay away from that small area and stayed further back near the beautiful trees. Many crowded to sit on steps around the statues, no one tearing them down. We could see people climb the barricades to hang American flags. It reminded me of Les Miserables. In time we learned some went inside but were sad to see others caused damage to an office. The million people with a good cause were having all their efforts marred by a few. The mix of people around the building was vast. Some kneeling to pray, others chanting, some waving flags, Uncle Sam, people sitting around eating, others just trying to see what they could get away with. The guys waving flags who got passed the guards on the Capitol reminded me more of a guy streaking acoss a baseball field than a mad anarchist. The crowd near us was large and friendly. Yes, people were on the building but there was not chaos outside. It was not a revolution. Then we could hear sirens and police and ambulances on the side of the Capitol building and going inside but not around the outside. About 3:30 as we walked to our bus, everyone around us had their phones blow up, asking if we were okay. Everyone was confused. No one knew what had happened. The rally around us was peaceful. Sadly we later saw the video of the young lady losing her life. All the efforts of a million people were clouded by the sadness of the loss of a life and the actions of a terrible person. As we looked for our bus, it had moved because the block where it was parked had a suspicious vehicle near it. The police were helpful. They were not threatened by the crowds. They were there to protect everyone. The day we experienced was a far cry from the one in the news. The big picture was skipped for the horrible actions of some. I had no cell service most of the day but the terror inside the bldg had already spread thru mass media by the time I had enough service to send a text. All attendees are now labeled as anarchists and terrorists. Our country is repeating a sad history. It is a people wanting to be heard. I had never believed our country would exprience anything like it. I'll post pics of the day I had, the one I'd hoped others could see. The one no one heard about. Unfortuntely, a happy beginning with a very sad ending. Evil is everywhere, it is a shame the actions of a few marred what 999,000 others peacefully set out to do. I am right to disbelieve the news. The media widens the divide by only sharing sadness. The people at the Rally were peaceful. The few who did bad things were just that, people doing bad things using the rally as their stage.
