What have we learned this year?

I like to love you hear what you have learnt this year and share that insight. Despite the very challenging global pandemic, it has been really good to see how my clients and community have built their resilience and resourcefulness in continuing to deliver value to their audience, using innovation and technology to bridge the physical divide. COVID accelerates our need to connect and get comfortable with video conferencing, use of new applications, file sharing, and collaborative documentation as well as autonomous ways of booking to manage consumer presence and demand levels, especially for the imposed social distancing measures. I observed more people embracing the use of the Google suite of products. For me and my team, we had to continuously look at all areas of our business communications and delivery systems and look for opportunities to innovate as well. I am taking the time to reflect and share my journey this year.
My 3 big lessons this year are...
1)Find my own flow, continue to enhance systems and structure:
It is important for me to keep a journal to plan, write and have a routine. I found keeping consistent in our weekly communications with the team, clients super key to moving forward.
2)Letting go of projects that are too hard:
Work with other talented professionals to co-create something better. I found that I have to consciously embrace on my talents and delegate, empower others to help me with my lesser talents makes me prioritise projects that energise me. Letting go of other project that don't return as much "value, profit or joy". This year has been one of the collaborations for me personally and working across the board with like-minded people, while still staying creative and strategic for both my endeavours in dance and building online marketing confidence for my clients and community. I found that by keeping true to our values and the spirit of my business, I can attract the right people to me.
3)Work hard and play hard with balance:
Freedom comes with balance and discipline. Measure what is important and then let the magic happen. I allow nature to happen and connections to take its course. Not to control each and every outcome...but by planting the seed. I really have to keep my intentions and vision pure. Stay focussed and true to yourself and your values. And super important as a leader and mentor to my clients and community is to allow others to step up to support OUR collective vision.
Merry Christmas and have a joyous 2021! May it be full of fulfilment for you and your family, in life as well as in business.
