WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

Together with the generous support of our partners and broader community, we are building a legacy for the future.

It’s been a busy year and as we look back on 2022, we are reminded of the importance of legacy. Building a legacy does not happen overnight. Our legacy grows with each new experience and is shaped by moments shared, and decisions made every step of the way.?

One of our 2022 legacy events was our annual sports fundraiser, the JumpStart Challenge, which was held in March 2022 during COVID-19 restrictions. The Challenge raised great awareness for skills development and we are excited for the next instalment of this event in 2023.??

We were also deeply saddened by the passing of a beloved team member, Billi Vermaak. Billi was a warm mother figure to our JumpStart students and her legacy lives on in all those who thrived from her warmth and vast knowledge. ?

We are thankful to all our partners, friends and followers for their support as we navigated the challenges of 2022: from COVID-19 to the devastating floods and riots in our home province of KwaZulu-Natal.??

Together, we will continue to build a legacy to empower more children and youth to unlock their brightest potential.

Here’s what we achieved together:

  • We collaborated on emergency relief efforts to bring comfort and hope.?
  • We impacted and empowered more youth.?

But what is our greatest achievement? That children and youth can look to Mr Price Foundation to help unlock their true potential, and move their lives onto a better path. This is thanks to your support.

Our future and how you can help

This year, we made time for close introspection and emerged with a freshly-sharpened purpose. Going forward, we will:

  • Refocus EduRise to address critical areas of literacy and numeracy, as well as become a more vocal advocate for change in early childhood development,?
  • Align the JumpStart programme to the skills development needs and job creation goals of the Retail-Clothing, Textile, Footwear and Leather Master Plan 2030,
  • Extend our HandPicked programme into more communities.
  • Continue to build strong strategic partnerships while maintaining and growing programme delivery.

Wishing you an impactful 2023. Let’s go, together. Masihambisane.
