What Have We Become?
The United States House of Representatives, lead by the boy wonder, Representative Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) was cavorting in the Rose Garden, after narrowly passing a measure to replace the Affordable Care Act. These "Creatures of Doom" had the audacity to celebrate and cavort about, in the White House Rose Garden, while they used their legislative bravado, to displace roughly twenty million Americans (mostly poor sick and old) off of health insurance. They did this by allowing states to discriminate against those who have preexisting conditions. It also allows insurance companies to put sick patients in "high risk pools", which will ultimately raise premiums, for people who need coverage the most.
And we celebrate this?
In doing this, Congress will transfer the burden of one trillion dollars to the poor and middle class, while giving a tax break to the wealthiest Americans. Look, I know that people were angry at the stalemate of our government. I know that people are also feel like their elected officials don't care about them. I would certainly agree with all of that and then some. However, GOP supporters, you have now made this a real live fact. These people have no shame. And you thought Hillary Clinton was crooked?
The only thing that Donald Trump has done, since he became president is reek havoc on our society. He has absolutely no respect for the rules of government, for which he was elected the leader, by the Electorate. Trump's populist rhetoric only ignites his "fans", who simply believe the "alternative facts" that he chooses to put forth, while the real facts tell a very different tale.
This not only is erroneous, but quite simply, fascist. Donald Trump does not play well with others. Although he is quite business saavy, he is very politically and socially illiterate. Trump clearly does not understand the role of government, for which he and his GOP allies are now in charge of. Trump has not appreciation for the rule of law and procedures, that all of us live with. Furthermore, he does not understand the history of our country, and therefore, has no respect for the legacy and heritage, of the people who comprise all of America, and those who sacrificed before him. Some of whom, might I add, risked or gave their lives,to protect and ensure our freedoms. Someone like fellow Republicans, Senator John Mc Cain of Arizona or Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. Both of whom were the vicious target of Trump comments.
In the case of John Mc Cain, Trump criticized him for being a prisoner of war.In Trump's words,“He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”. As for Rubio, Trump criticized openly criticized Senator Rubio, for having "sweaty hands".
You see folks, he is above all of this. Not you. Although, Trump represents a radical change in American politics, he does not like to deal with people that he simply cannot relate to. Like Adolf Hitler and Edi Amin before him, Trump relishes in having control. He does not care for you or your problems, unless they are his problems. He does not like people talking back to him, as the media has done. He simply wants to lead and have you follow.
He and his supporters are so arrogant and spiteful of the sanctity of our American political system, Michael Flynn after being specifically told not to talk with the Russians, he did it anyway. Like Trump, he doesn't care about National Security the way that most Americans do. Flynn and Trump care about money. They have an allegiance to no one, except those that they have business with.
This is a major problem. Our enemies are watching and looking at ways to take advantage of Trump's lack of a foreign policy. In these troubled times around the world, with the threat of terror, always present, we need a foreign policy and not a "wait and see attitude. The last time that happened, the World Trade Center and Pentagon were attacked. We cannot let this happen again.
As long as you are angry. As long as you blame people of color for what is going on in America, you fail to realize that racism, sexism and xenophobia, are easy scapegoats for people who are simply racist, and do not care about or see common ground with people who are racially, and ideologically different from them.
America, we have seen this so many times before. This is a time when we are not just blue and red states. We are red, white and blue through and through
