A Quickie Primer
?Hashtags are just a way to categorize or label things, although a lot of people use them to funny, cheeky, or ironic.
There’s no limit to the number of hashtags you can use, though we generally limit it to around 3-5, sometimes up to 10 if there’s a lot going on (like hashtagging a video).
Using common ones can get you new followers or likes (#nofilter #[location] #sunset), whereas using branded ones like the ones that use our name make it easy for us to sort content from our sites.
For example:
We’re using #AloricaLovesCustomerService and asking sites to show us how #AloricaCelebratesCSW – so you can use both!
I manage 73+ social media teams at local sites across the globe. The above is taken directly from an email I sent in response to a member of my team asking for help with hashtags. Succinct summary, HMU if you have any futher questions!
