What has REPLENISHMENT gotta do with your RESUME?

What has REPLENISHMENT gotta do with your RESUME?

"...After 10 years as a Corporate Controller of a large MNC, Sheila couldn't help but look at the LEGACY she wanted to leave for her young daughter, who was just 11 months old but growing and changing every single hour - or so it felt. She was already back at work but something was amiss. She had always been that #gogetter, scored high on "Need-for-Achievement (nACH)" assessments, had corporate mentors all over and very, very supportive HR. Yet something was amiss. She wanted MORE. She wanted MORE THAN JUST A JOB...! What could she do? What else was she good at?"

"...Pooja, a single mom, runs a Cafe - she had started out with small savings in a less-than-prime location but business mushroomed as word (and sales!) of her special "spicy mushroom quiche" spread (no pun intended!). Her "grow your own fun-ghi" workshops were talk of the town - she paired up with a local farm and ran plant-powered classes which gave her cafe more purpose than ever before! And, she needed to raise funds. Fundraising...hmmm...how does she pitch herself? She had never really focused much on a resume! hmmm.

"...Sveta, a Marketing VP, found herself sick to her stomach - in more ways than one! In the office bathroom, as she tried to wash her face faster than beads of sweat could reappear, she knew something was wrong - and she had been putting off that doctor's visit. The presentations, business trips and that client meeting always seemed to take priority. What if she needed a sabbatical? What if she NEVER wanted to return? What if she followed her heart?

These anecdotes are fictional - though some details draw on real life accounts - and maybe offer a glimmer of where YOU might be right now - at work, in life, personally or professionally.

  • Ready for a Change
  • Ready to Pitch yourself (after having made that Change)
  • Unsure of what your BRAND is anymore (in between somewhere "readiness for change" and "having made that change")

No matter where you're at - support and help is always round the corner. And, by that I mean, - you're NOT ALONE. Thousands of women (and men!) have been exactly where you're at. And, nopes - no matter how much the muggles tell ya, this ain't the proverbial "mid life crisis". Ask the Wizards who've crossed over LOL. Life at Hogwarts is AWESOME - all you gotta do is arrive at the train station and make a dash toward Platform whatever-and-a-half ;-)

Not to be flippant, when I say Hogwarts - I mean the "Wizard State of Mind". Welcome to the potions, spells, snitches, magic wands and that 'anything's possible' realm of affairs! Beyond the pompous moral confines of The Template de la Muggles.

Here's how you survive the Crossing Over:

  1. YOU are an EXPERT on your life, your method of "change" and you know YOU best. Never ever doubt it. Self Doubt is an ego-identity, embrace it, talk about it to fellow wizards and chances are, it will start to loosen its grip over you!
  2. FIND YOUR TRIBE. There are others like you. In you community, in your city, in your neighborhood, on your social media networks - and other "circles" you'll LeanInto and discover a world that exists without the walls you find yourself in! Write this intention down on paper and hold onto it - as you sip that coffee, solo - reflecting - without a 100 emails to deal with. Solo.
  3. IDENTIFY LIMITING BELIEFS. Write down a List of a few things you *think* you cannot do - PICK ONE, GO DO IT. If the voice inside of you says - My art is amateurish and no one will evvvaaaa exhibit it, leave alone buy it. SILENCE that little voice forevvvaaa!
  4. REACH OUT TO EXPERTS. A coaching conversation with an Expert on "Change, Replenishment, Renewal, Behavior Change" ALWAYS helps. Look for Board Certified Credentialed Coaches. The National Board for Health and Wellness Coaches has an awesome directory - many work remotely, irrespective of Zip Code, Time Zone, International Location!
  5. VISION BOARD. Not always a large, elaborate, colorful painting :-) Sometimes a refurbished, replenished, renewed RESUME and LinkedIn Profile works just as well - if not more. No matter where you're based, you might want to check out my friend Mir Garvy from New England Resumes - and oh! She is going to be speaking exclusively to Mayo Clinic Trained and Certified Coaches very, very soon.

If you attended the Mayo Clinic - regardless of discipline and year of graduation - and have an interest in Wellness, ReBranding, Replenishment, ReLaunching Careers, this Friday's The CoachPreneur Project PodCast might be a great pitstop to make.

DETAILS: Friday, March 6, 10am Pacific / 12pm Central / 1pm Eastern.

Leave a Comment or Message me / Debra Woods if you'd like access to the ZOOM Conference (for Mayo Clinic Grads only, for now!)

Enjoyed this article - especially the support for crossing over (you are the expert; find your tribe; identify limiting beliefs; reach out to the experts; and vision board). Very much looking forward to hearing what Mir Garvey has to say on Friday when she shares her expertise for promoting our brands most effectively on LinkedIn.?
