Latest News: GWT & Shell to collab on Offshore Wind tech for Gulf of Mexico
Gulf Wind Technology (GWT) announces its next steps in bringing its expertise in wind turbine rotor technology to address challenging wind conditions in the Gulf of Mexico in advance of offshore wind energy development in the region.
GWT has partnered with Shell New Energies US LLC (Shell), through a $10 million investment by the energy company, in the creation of the Shell Gulf Wind Technology Accelerator program. The collaboration includes the deployment of novel technologies to a demonstrator turbine potentially as early as 2024, designed to develop, test and implement the first suite of optimized technical solutions for a Gulf of Mexico-specific wind turbine... New report: Record lease sale activity expected for 2023 as more countries...
RECORD lease sale activity is expected for 2023 as more countries than ever before are planning their first rounds this year. That is according to the Q1 2023 edition of TGS, 4C Offshore's Global Market Overview.
Those countries set to embark on their first offshore wind lease rounds include Norway, Lithuania, Uruguay, Portugal, Australia, Brazil, Columbia, Estonia, and Ireland. Many will have modeled their approaches on successful recent rounds and innovations in the UK, the US, and Denmark ?? Read more...
