What hard work is to me

ABtech Applications LLC - You may hear people say that they are hard workers. I know when I say it, I can truly back that statement up. I remember my father working a full day and when he got home...he had projects, home improvements, and always kept busy. I never thought I would see myself like that. I have been working at a job since I was 11 years old, picking tobacco 10 hours a day in the peak of summer for $4.50/hr. I had a job every summer and if I was not working at work, I was working helping my dad. I was up at 5 in the morning to start my day, and at times I was there until 4 am the following morning. It was normal for me to work 15+ hours a day. When I came home, I would get to work on the house or the car. I am the guy late at night mowing his grass with the use of my tractor's headlights or the floodlight on at 10 pm while I was building a deck for the house. I did not know what a workaholic I was until one day I realized that determination is what keeps me driven. I have always moved up quickly with every company I have worked for. Now, I take care of my baby boy early morning, work a full-time job, go to school, take additional online courses, work on personal app developing projects and most importantly, pick up the kids when needed, make those Saturday morning soccer games and time for all of my family. That is what this Generation Xer has always been about. I may work hard but I still feel the need to want to play harder.
