"But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?" – Albert Camus

In the wake of Monday's solar eclipse, I spent yesterday reflecting on the natural phenomena and their surprising parallels to the themes in my upcoming single, "Harmony," dropping on April 28.

Now, I'm not gonna lie, I know that the eclipse is a rare alignment of the sun and moon, but I wasn't expecting the image of the sun being completely covered by the moon to be such a powerful image. And of course, it got me thinking of a few lessons that resonate deeply with the messages in my upcoming single!

  • The Power of Contrast The eclipse [for me, anyway] highlights the stark contrast between light and darkness, reminding us of the beauty and necessity of both. In "Harmony," I explore this interplay, acknowledging that life's challenges and triumphs are two sides of the same coin, each adding depth and meaning to our existence.
  • Finding Common Ground Despite their celestial differences, the sun and moon come together to create something spectacular, much like how music has the power to unite us across our diverse lives. "Harmony" is a nod to this unity, emphasizing that beneath our surface differences lies a shared human experience, one that music often brings to the forefront.
  • The Quest for Balance The equilibrium achieved during an eclipse is a natural marvel, underscoring the theme of balance that "Harmony" aims to capture. The chorus of "Harmony" reflects this delicate equilibrium:

Can we refuse the Devil? Stop breaking each other We say we're so lonely inside Forgetting that we are the light Can we put down this evil? Stop hating each other We say we just want to be free Forgetting we need Harmony

It's a call to action, urging us to find balance within ourselves and with each other, recognizing that harmony is not just a concept but a practice that requires our conscious effort.

As we gear up for the release of "Harmony," I'm excited to invite you to a special event. We're shaking things up with a morning show [I know, right?! A concert in the morning?!!] at Hard Rock Cafe from 11 AM to 2 PM on April 28.

It's a chance to come together, enjoy some live music, and reflect on the themes of balance, unity, and contrast that both the eclipse and "Harmony" bring to light.

I'll also be performing a number of other songs from my upcoming album, discussing the stories behind them, and opening the floor for attendees to ask questions about the music, and my story along the way.

If YOU have any questions you'd like to know about, please reply back to this email, and let me know! I'll be sure to record the answer and send it to you via a YouTube video so you can know more about music with a message Emma G style. ;)

You know, with songs like this one that will also be featured on the album:

Anyway, I'm super looking forward to sharing this song with you, and celebrating with you in style at Hard Rock Cafe! This event will be in preparation for the upcoming Youth Empowerment US Tour, and will also feature a couple of guests, so I'm excited!

Have an amazing day on purpose,

Emma G

P.S. Make sure you book your table early so you aren't left standing at the bar! Especially if you have kiddos :)
