What happens when your drone stops following you?
I was out walking my drone the other night; you know just wandering around the neighborhood kind of a slow roll walk. Anyway as my drone and I were walking I began to realize that it was mostly me walking and my drone, in follow me mode, well following me.
Not to mention the fact that two of my neighbors have a lot of stuff in their backyard and how do you mow a yard with 100 tennis balls strewn around?
That got me thinking, but then I wouldn’t be posting this if something hadn’t caught my fancy would I. Well maybe I would, but by this point, you would have figured out that this was a post about nothing and you would have moved on to other LinkedIn things to consider.
The initial thought that leaped to my mind was that it was a little strange to be walking around my neighborhood with my drone looking at the back of my head. So I had the drone follow me but do so from 100 feet to the right and behind me. It changed the view from my bald spot to the afore mentioned neighbor's yards. My initial thought now solved gave way to other droning internal monologs.
What if cars could do that, you know hover around 20 feet above us and off to the right. We wouldn’t need to park our cars they would just hover near us. Of course, huge events like presidential inaugurations and major holidays would still have to have vertical parking lots.
What if there were so many Selphie drones they blotted out the sky?
What if I stopped thinking about drones and headed back indoors? The reality of drones will be here soon. So I suspect will the reality of flying cars. What I want to see is the first kid's soccer game with 20 drones in the stands for the parents that couldn’t be there in person. Drones are flying up and down the sidelines following that missing parent's kid.
I will stop droning on about drones now. Just an introduction to the many things I think about as I wander about with my drone. I would also like to say that I do not whistle the theme song from “the courtship of Eddie’s father,” nor do I have my drone play that song as it flies.
I think I need to get out of the hot sun for awhile.
