What Happens When you Loose Control of Dent & Buckle Status
Are you fully aware of your level of lease return exposure – read what happened to one operator who had a mismatch between the “Dent & Buckle” Chart and the physical aircraft survey.
Aircraft Lease Return Implications When Structural Repairs Are Not Fully Documented
Whilst this is a Real Story, typically in every case the airline suffers significant losses – It does not have to be this way !
What were the penalties faced by the Airline related to mismanagement of Dent & Buckle Status?
Lessor insisted on having these repairs fully documented.
A thorough check of all MRO inputs did not locate sufficient data to classify these repairs as being fully documented.
Many repairs had to be complete redone involving removal and re-installation.
Cost to the Operator – One week overrun & 7 days Penalty Rent.
What Went Wrong?
All repairs listed in Dent & Buckle Chart were identified on the Aircraft Log Book D & B Chart, However, there were more repairs present on the Airframe that were not recorded on Dent and Buckle Chart.
