What happens when the leaders of the worlds greatest company turn out to be nice people?
Having worked for a few days behind the scenes at Microsoft Inspire & Ready I got to meet and observe many of Microsoft’s senior Executives as they went about final preparations and delivery of their keynote speeches.
It didn’t surprise me that they were consummate professionals, delivering long and inspiring talks without notes or auto-cue, speaking with great knowledge, always from the heart.
What did move me was how thoroughly nice they all were. I observed them taking a break from their exhausting schedules to offer much needed words of encouragement to us lesser speakers, and taking time to congratulate us as we came off stage. I saw them speaking to the catering staff, the production teams, the make up people... always with genuine interest and respect.
What happens when the leaders of the worlds greatest company turn out to be nice people? In my opinion it means that the Microsoft mission statement of empowering every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more becomes very achievable as I’m confident the path forward is in very safe hands.

5 年Definitely some of the nicest and most intentional partners I’ve ever worked with on supporting bright futures in computer science. Their culture, at least from what I’ve been able to witness, is just nice :-)

5 年I guess that leaders must be judged for what the company does, not for what they say or look like. It's seems to be a game already played by our politicians.
