What happens when a hurricane screws up your plans?

Helping Business Owners To Increase Profits By Improving Marketing Efforts, Revenue and Reducing Expenses.
I must admit, I am terrible at taking time off. I love what I do and love to work. I know I am not alone - you may be just like me. But, our minds and bodies need to take a break. My sister and brother in-law take a month-long vacation each year. They travel to a new spot somewhere in the world and really learn the culture and experience some great things. When they come back they are refreshed and ready to go back to work and get back into their regular routine.
So… with this thought in mind my lovely and amazing wife recently planned a whole week for us to slow down and rest. When I began to think back I realized that it has been around ten years since I have actually taken a vacation. A vacation that is mostly pleasure with a minimal amount of work involved. She planned and planned. Then something came out of nowhere - Hurricane Florence.
Our trip was planned for the Carolina mountains - zip lining, rafting, seeing old friends - a great time. But we knew we could not fight 140mph winds and tons of rain. So we canceled everything. She was heart broken. But… we made lemonade out of lemons - as they say.
We found a really nice little condo just up the coast from where we live in Florida. A place where we could go without the concern of a hurricane and would allow us to rest. As I write to you, I am sitting out on my balcony watching the sun come up, people walking on the beach and surfers enjoying the big waves being churned up by Florence.
Here is a picture that I took as the sun was coming up. Wow, God can paint some beautiful art work.
My amazing assistant is back home checking off her To-Do list getting so much done. Michelle B - you are amazing. And the rest of my staff are praying that I rest and doing what only they can do.
You may say, “But Jeff, you are still working.†I guess I am a little but this is therapy for me. Getting away, slowing down, doing some writing and putting my dreams down on paper. This is relaxing - as odd as it sounds.
I encourage you to follow my lead. Don’t wait ten years like I have. Get away. Dream. Fish. Shop. Hike. Do whatever is therapy for you. You, your family, your business and your team need you to be fully charged every day.
