What happens after

What happens after

After weeks of postponement, I faced a fear today and did some cold outreach?—?asking for advice from professionals who I think have accomplished remarkable things.?

I realize this may be a small thing for others, but, for some reason, it’s been a big deal for me in my head.?

This is an important milestone because it refreshed some key observations after the fact:?

  1. The world didn’t end?—?I didn’t die. In fact I feel better.?
  2. Facing the fear was actually a walk in the park compared to sitting with the thought of facing it for the last several weeks.?
  3. I wish I acted sooner.?
  4. Nothing may happen and I’m okay with that, because I know it won’t be for a lack of me taking a shot.?

If you’re debating whether to do something you know is valuable but feel somewhat anxious about or unready for, maybe consider some of these observations made after as rough guidance on how you may feel.?

You can do it. You will be fine. Forget about how things may pan out for a moment?—?just the act of doing something in spite of resistance is a foundational skill worth building that will help carry you forward.?

The Daily Spark exists for two reasons:

  1. To document one idea every day that I've found helpful in my life.
  2. To inspire you to discover what matters most and to take action towards it.
