What is happening in logistics, shipping and other areas of supply chain?

This is a complex question with multiple-choice answers, depending on who you ask. For example, shippers are yet again in a tight spot.

Maersk said in a market update a few days ago that the Red Sea remains highly complex. “As recent attacks have reached further offshore, this has forced our vessels to lengthen their journey further, increasing costs and sailing time. The knock-on effects of the situation have included bottlenecks and vessel bunching, as well as delays and equipment and capacity shortages.”

Prices are increasing, and capacity is remaining down for Asia-Europe for the moment, so shippers face higher transport costs. How much higher?

The latest Drewry WCI composite index of $3,159 per 40ft container is 122% more than average 2019 (pre-pandemic) rates of $1,420. Freight rates from Shanghai to Rotterdam increased 20% or $606 to $3,709 per 40ft container.?
RO e-Transport is still a growing pain for companies in Romania

The authorities have yet to answer all questions, despite the Guide published by the ANAF (National Agency for Fiscal Administration).

And there are hefty fines involved—up to RON 100,000 for non-compliance with the provisions.
