What happened to the November 23 changes to the 482 visa?
Australian Visa and Immigration Experts (AVIE)

In short; nothing.
Despite being announced in the May Federal Budget, changes to reduce the work experience requirement from two years to one were not introduced over the weekend.
?
Applicants hoping to rely on this change must now consider alternative visa options or take their chances with the upcoming Skills in Demand visa.
?
Immigration has repeatedly stated that the Skills in Demand visa will commence ‘by the end of 2024’, but with only 5 weeks left and one of those being Christmas, it is hard to see when these changes will be put into place.
?
Experienced Migration Practitioners know that Immigration announcements are not set in stone until proper legislation is available. To date, no further details on the Skills in Demand visa have been released. We can only wait and see.
?
If you or one of your employees was planning on a Subclass 482 visa under the changes, you may need to ‘Pivot!’ as Ross Geller (Friends) would say.
