Housing is an important aspect of our lives. When we plan a marriage, the next thing we start planning is the purchase of the first matrimonial home.

The first matrimonial home signifies a union of a man and woman. It is a repository of happy memories and where a family is set up.

When a marriage breaks down, how to divide the matrimonial home, who will keep it, who moves out and the challenges for the spouse to buy a new home looms in the mind of a couple.

I still remember the day I was present to witness my client and his former wife were arguing who retain certain items in the matrimonial home.

I was visualising how they must have lovingly and painstakingly acquired each item when they set up home.

When I got to know Clarence Foo, a top realtor in Singapore who cares about his client's needs and wishes in buying or selling their homes, we started discussing doing a Facebook Live to share our professional views about how housing issue can be dealt with when a couple decides to divorce.
