What is GTL, anyway?

GTL or Gas-to-liquids is a group of refinery process technologies that convert natural gas or other gaseous hydrocarbons into longer chained hydrocarbons (gasoline, diesel fuel or lubricants). Methane can also be converted into liquid synthetic fuels using similar conversion technologies.

I am not a chemical engineer, nor do I purport to understand Fischer Tropsch (FT) technologies. I do know that what this technology can do for the energy industry is to find new sources of fuels and petro-chem products that we use every day.

Robinson Pipe & Vessel recently partnered with BgtL, to design and build a turn-key solution utilizing proprietary FT technology. This recently commissioned process solution utilized syn-gas as the feed-stock to produce synthetic crude oil.  Other processes for GTL application include: Methane to Methanol; Methanol to Gasoline; Syngas to Gasolines; and Biological / Digester Gas-To-Liquids.

The uses for this technology are everywhere. At Robinson Pipe & Vessel, our capabilities are nearly endless. If you have a proprietary process design and you are looking for a strategic partner; let us know how we can help you.
