What got Me Excited this Week!

What got Me Excited this Week!

Here are some things I encountered this week that got me excited.

  1. Learners: Since the recent release of my GitOps Foundations course on LinkedIn Learning, I've been eagerly awaiting feedback from learners who completed the course and this week they certainly delivered! I cheered with every post announcing another learner completed the course and celebrated being part of such a great community!
  2. hub: Hub is a command line tool that wraps around your Git CLI to allow actions in GitHub like pull requests and repository creation to be performed from the comfort of your bash prompt. I'm late to the party on this tool and it pains me to know that all of this time I never had to leave the shell.
  3. Document AI: Google's Document AI platform allows data to be extracted from documents like invoices and other standard forms using AI capabilities backed by Google's knowledge graph. If your business is doing a "stare and compare" process with documents it's worth a look to see what can be automated. You can learn more in this excellent Google Cloud podcast.
  4. Gloo Edge: Gloo Edge is an API Gateway created by Solo.io that runs in your Kubernetes cluster. The platform, which is built on top of Envoy, provides a central access point for traffic routing into your backend services.
  5. Octant: Octant is an open source web interface that visualizes the workload running inside of your Kubernetes cluster. It's a great way to quickly browse cluster resources and their declarative configuration.

So that's what put the sparkle in my eye this week! What got you excited?
