Here is what got me excited this week!
- Running: Recently I crossed the 2K mile mark for the year! I enjoy my runs because they give me an oppurtunity to reflect, listen to podcasts and to get in touch with nature. If you need a way to re-energize a physical hobby is a great way to change things up and has tremendous physical/mental benefits. I cannot wait to update you when I cross 3K miles for the year.
- StackOverflow Developer Survey 2021: I finally carved out some time to review and take in this year's StackOverflow Developer survey. This year JavaScript led the pack in the most commonly used programming languages and Git continued its dominance for version control. I was excited to see that Online Courses were used by 40% of developers learning to code. It makes me feel great that I'm able to contribute to this via my portfolio of courses on LinkedIn Learning.
- SpringOne: One of my favorite conferences, SpringOne is just around the corner. The two-day conference will be online this year running from September 1 - 2 with free registration. I'm looking forward to checking out the GitOps, Your Kubernetes Runtime, and You presentation by Jason Morgan.
- Flagsmith: This week I stumbled across Flagsmith, which is a tool for building feature flags into your applications. Hats off to the folks at Flagsmith for making their software open-source. It looks like a great alterantive to LaunchDarkly.
- My Next Course: You probably noticed I missed an article or two over the past few weeks. That's because I've been hard at work during my nights and weekends recording my next LinkedIn Learning course which will cover Java collections. I've completed recording and I'm very excited for when its released and I can share it with the community.
That's what got me excited this week! What put the sparkle in your eye this week?
