How to do routine Maintanence to your Pump?

We all know that, maintanence is important to mining equipments, especially for the equipments or spares which are easily damaged, like pump.

So what can we do for the routine maintanence to improve the service life of the pump and spare parts.

• Dust, water and oil stains on pumps shall be removed frequently， to keep the pump clean and tidy.
• Pay close attention to the oil level, oil pressure, oil quality and temperature of the pump and the prime mover bearing, and supplement and replace the lubricating oil in time; for the newly installed bearing, replace the oil once after 100 hours of operation, and then every 1000 – 2000 hours of operation: pay attention to the lubricating grease, apply the calcium based grease to the pump, which is not easy to emulsify in case of water, and apply the sodium based grease to the motor, which has high temperature resistance.

• Always pay attention to the leakage and heating of the shaft seal. When the shaft seal is a packing, the water should be a drop by drop leakage. If there is a string of leakage, the packing should be pressed slowly. If there is no leakage, the packing will be heated abnormally. The packing should be loosened a little. The new packing can be allowed to leak a little more. After running in, the packing should be pressed gradually to normal condition. For the mechanical seal, the leakage should be less than 5ml / h (3 / min~ 5 drops) as normal, the leakage of the newly installed mechanical seal can be a little larger, and it will gradually reduce after running in. If it is too large, open the reason for inspection, adjust and repair.
• Always pay attention to whether the instruments, such as flowmeter, pressure gauge and ammeter, are normal and stable, and check the causes and eliminate the abnormalities if found.
• Pay attention to the sound and vibration of the pump unit, and check the causes and eliminate the abnormalities.
• Always check whether the bolts of each part are loose, especially the foundation bolts.
• Pay attention to the water level in the water inlet tank and clean the water inlet tank regularly.
