What is a good number of featured articles and posts to have? Q#50

This is a great question and it touches one our 4 key activities – High Value Content:

(1)  Posting Frequency

As posts and articles are the primary avenue for presenting yourself as an expert lets consider this aspect first: How often should you post ?

As a good guideline:

• if you are looking for a significant portion of your business opportunities / new network connections on LinkedIn then post daily
• otherwise several times a week
• less often than not and there is very limited value (what is the point of exercise / going to the gym once a month ? ... its better than nothing but ...)

(2)  Re-using / Re-purposing Content

Articles are better than posts as

• you can re-use content / articles / posts periodically - as in share them later in other groups
• your audience can view all of your articles on your profile when it suits them and consume what they want when they want to
• you can double check / tweak / update articles easily and quickly and then the latest version will appear everywhere you have shared it before (I have updated this article several times already)

(3)  How many is enough articles ?

Enough articles so that:

a.      your audience can binge on your content when they want to

b.      can follow a complete theme to conclusion

(4)  How many articles ...

As many as you can ... and then add

a.      one more …

b.      more as your profession / industry changes

c.      as you are asked different / interesting questions from your audience / clients 

(5) Featured ... ?

In LinkedIn terms is a new "feature" on your profile that allows you to "highlight" specific pieces of content (external and internal) on your profile so it is easier for people to see

How many is the ideal number of featured articles .. more than 1 and less than 6
