One year ago, Jordan Peterson inadvertently memed himself while trying to deconstruct the fundamentals of reality. The internet piled on. And now, for some reason, we’re about to make the same fool’s errand.
We are knee-deep into the future of the fan experience, and this week we are deconstructing one of the oldest and most popular games on the planet.? Let’s talk about golf. As we’ve said many times lately, fans are not engaging with sports in traditional ways.? What does this mean for a sport like golf that is built on golf-leafed heritage? It comes down to a simple choice with complex implications: double-down on traditions or rebuild for a modern fan experience?
There is a problem with that choice; it implies that there is someone with authority that makes it. In the case of golf, fan behavior is driving investments into new golf experiences that are redefining the game.?
This is where we start to sound like our multicolored memetic professor. Let’s get weird.
