What Goes Around Comes Around? // Galatians 5:14
By Mark Jordan | Spiritual Advisor
Today’s verse from Galatians 5:14 is actually the Apostle Paul quoting Jesus on the Greatest Commandment. If you recall, Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. He then went on to say that the second is like it, “to love your neighbor as yourself.” This has Golden Rule vibes all over it as we remember Jesus’ teaching to do to others what we would have them do to us. That brings us back to what Paul wrote in today’s verse, and then to follow in verse 15: “If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” In other words, what goes around comes around. Now, I’m not talking about karma here, but the law of sowing and reaping. You harvest what you plant. So, let’s not sow seeds of discord and division; rather love, grace, and mercy. That’s what can change our lives, and God uses changed lives to change the world.
