Following a global wave of layoffs, some of GCC's 35 million expats are experiencing employment instability due to the economic fallout of the coronavirus. 1.2 million expats are expected to leave the Saudi workforce during this year, according to a report by Jadwa Investment. A large number of foreign public sector employees in Bahrain were terminated recently, with plans for more layoffs this year.
