What a fantastic week!

What a fantastic week!

The Hand On Heart team are still feeling very proud this week after the 4th annual UK Heart Safe Awards. It was an amazing evening that highlighted what fantastic work is being carried out across the UK.  The UK Heart Safe Awards are the UK’s leading nationwide awards competition to celebrate organisations and employers who invest in creating Heart Safe environments as well as the acts of individuals who have saved lives while at work or leisure.

A Heart Safe environment is one where life-saving equipment - a defibrillator and training are provided for staff or customers so that, should a sudden cardiac arrest occur, people are fully prepared to perform resuscitation and life support immediately.

This year’s awards were the biggest yet. We were joined by over 300 individuals who helped us celebrate the achievements of 16 amazing winners and an additional two nominations that were highly commended.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event including all our sponsors, nominees and supporters of the charity.

It is our biggest event of the year and goes a huge way towards helping us with our aims to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest in the young and to create heart safe environments.

I also announced on Friday that Hand on Heart has had its most successful year to date. I was thrilled to share some of our highlights with our guests and desperately wanted to share our latest good news!

It has been officially announced today that Hand on Heart Charity has been shortlisted for the Guardian Charity Awards 2015! These prestigious awards aim to showcase excellence among small and medium-sized charities. The prestigious national awards will announce five winners at an event in London on the 1st December 2015. We are absolutely thrilled to have made this year’s short list. We’re in good company with so many other fantastic charities this year, which just shows what amazing work the third sector as a whole is carrying out.

This will help us promote Hand on Heart and our aim to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest in young people.

Look out for an announcement early December to see if we are one of the five lucky winners!!!
