What to expect......Embracing Global Change

My Xchanging colleagues and I are very much looking forward to the annual gathering of the great and good from the London and global insurance industry, at this Thursday’s Xchanging London Market Conference.

Over 400 senior delegates will once again come together to network and debate the major issues affecting the London market (re)insurers, brokers, customers and capital providers, at this definitive London market event.

The overarching theme of 'Embracing global change' recognises that while globalisation puts pressures on market participants, embracing global change prompts us to be bold and innovative, which increases the relevance and strength of our industry. Attendees will hear from a variety of insurance rainmakers, as well as experts and inspiring leaders from other fields, on how the industry is addressing its key challenges including:

- Using technology to drive innovation in the London Market

- Implementing the Target Operating Model

- Securing London’s leading position and competitiveness in a global market

- Dealing with increasing regulation

- Promoting diversity and maximising talent.

The excellent speaker line-up features executives from the LMA, Lloyd’s, Aon Benfield, XL Catlin, Pegasystems and The People Development Team, as well as from Xchanging, event partner The Insurance Insider…and many more. A keynote speech by former England rugby captain, Will Carling, will end the day.

I am personally looking forward to taking part on the ‘Making the TOM (target operating model) happen’ panel session at 11am alongside Martyn Scripps , XL Catlin, Mark Chapman, Chairman of the AAC, David Gittings, CEO of the LMA and Peter Mungeam, COO of APAC, Aon Benfield and Moderator Adrian Thornycroft, Programme Market Director of TOM on behalf of the London Market Group. Together we will discuss:

  • Is there a consensus view of what element of the TOM will create most value; and for whom?
  • What’s the best way of engaging the key stakeholders and winning over the sceptics?
  • What does the TOM mean to different communities within the industry?

Experts from Xchanging will also be on-hand throughout the day to discuss challenges faced by the insurance industry, and the solutions companies are implementing to create competitive advantage.

I know we can look forward to a great event – which is well summed up by a delegate from a previous year’s conference: “Excellent and relevant content with interesting and entertaining speakers. No one could have left without taking away something positive.”

There are just a few places left: click here to book. And whether you are a delegate or not, you can get updates on the discussions and join in the conversation on social media, using the #XLMC2015 hashtag.

Thanks for sharing Rob. Will be interesting to hear on discussion around regulation and hope you also end up covering impact on industry due to developing geo political scenarios as well around the world. Cheers Manish
