Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will deliver his 2024 spring Budget on Wednesday 6th March.

With the UK Economy in a delicate position, there has been a lot of speculation about whether he will announce tax cuts ahead of the next general election.

What could be in the spring Budget?

Income Taxes?

The government has hinted that it wants to cut taxes. But it has also suggested there may not be enough money to make big changes. Options such as allowing the tax thresholds to rise in line with inflation again would mean millions paying less tax.?

Any changes in income tax rates or thresholds could impact business owners, especially those with income from self-employment or dividends.

National Insurance

Following? reductions in the 2023 autumn statement, there are considerations to cut National Insurance even further. This

would directly affect both employers and self-employed individuals, potentially reducing the cost of labour for businesses.

Fuel Duty

A potential 5p increase in fuel duty has been suggested, this could affect?transportation costs for businesses reliant on vehicles, impacting operating expenses.

Inheritance Tax

There could be adjustments to inheritance tax thresholds to reflect rising house prices. If you run a family owned business this could impact your succession plans.
