What to expect from MWC18

  MWC 2018 will take place during this month in Barcelona. This year there will be a little different from previous congresses in contents and areas of focus.  

 In my opinion the congress no more focus on legacy mobile services and network components, instead of that there will a wide range of engineering innovation concepts and future network ideas.

 The companies are trying to figure out the shape of the industry and how it will look like after this huge transformations in each single component in the industry and trying to make these changes to be for better future in terms of the market and services.

The congress more and more targeting other business sectors beside telecommunications, as the overlap already started between all the sectors and telecom becomes an important part of all the business sectors. So it is expected to see many of non-telecom business sectors have representations and presence in the congress.

 The topics will focus on:

• Smart cities and the innovations in this regard,
• 5G and the combination between 5G and smart cities,
• 5G real use cases,
• future network,
• Economical focus on low cost productions,
• A2P,
• RCS,
• Broadcasting,
• Virtualization,
• Things as a platform beside IOT.

In my believe it will be a good start of mutual understanding between future consumers and productions.
