What Should You Expect From an IT Service Provider

When it comes to hiring an IT services provider for the first time or transitioning to a new one, it's crucial to know what to expect. While each MSP is unique, here is what you may expect in the first few weeks after becoming a Computer Solutions East (CSE) IT customer.
First and foremost, don't expect solutions right away. You'll get them, but initially, all IT providers will want to talk with you to figure out precisely what you need and where their organization can help. Also, keep in mind that not all IT suppliers offer the same services or levels of protection. If you assess potential MSPs, you may use our free Managed IT Support Checklist to compare them.
The Initial Consultations with an IT Services Provider
When you contact Computer Solutions East, we will conduct a discovery interview. This is often a 30-minute phone session during which we review your company's needs and services to see whether we are a good fit.
If there is a good fit, the first in-person meeting will take place. We will need your lead engineer and account manager, and any other staff members who are crucial to assisting us in developing a plan to be present. We will need to discuss how dependent your company is on IT technology, including:
- What technology you have now, what your immediate aims are, and what your long-term ambitions are.
- Your current end point device count (computers, smartphones, etc.) and whether they are on-site or remote.
- Whether you are currently using an on-premises or cloud-based server, we advocate cloud-based for various reasons, which can be addressed further during this process.
The Kick-Off
Onboarding is the process of getting your business up and running with all of our services, and it begins with a kick-off. This approach includes a thorough evaluation of your master service agreement to ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding the services, procedure, and schedule. Onboarding begins after the deal is signed.
After the contract is signed, the onboarding process will begin on the first of the month. Onboarding takes at least two weeks. It can be done faster, but CSE's experience has shown us that it is essential not to rush. We want to make sure that everything is done correctly from the start.
The first step in onboarding is to document what is already in place. Then we'll begin to add to the portfolio of security, endpoint management, and backup technologies we employ to manage your technological demands. Because it involves touching every device on your network, this step consumes most of the onboarding time. This procedure may appear to be silent to you as it unfolds. Still, the CSE IT staff will be ensuring that every single device is ready to begin living under CSEt's umbrella of service and security.
This is also an opportunity for us to develop a lifecycle strategy to assist you in staying ahead of any IT purchase requirements. This initial budgeting guide will be revised quarterly for the duration of CSE's managed service provider relationship (MSP).
Getting Started with an IT Services Provider
This is the time when we "turn on" Computer Solutions East IT support for your business. Your endpoints are monitored and secured, we are proactively solving issues, and your team understands how to contact us for assistance and what to expect when they do.
The first month may include some speed bumps, such as difficulties that were not discovered during onboarding and must be handled, or some "getting comfortable" period for both teams. We'll work through these issues together, keeping open lines of communication open to ensure as minimal disruption to your operation as possible.
Ongoing Assistance from an IT Services Provider
We provide proactive IT support at CSE IT. That is, we do not simply wait for you to notify us of a problem. We actively monitor your systems, assess your usage trends, and advise on making the most of your technology.
We'll meet weekly, but more or less frequently, depending on each client's preferences.
Choosing a new or unfamiliar IT supplier might be intimidating. We hope that these insights will make your decision-making process a little smoother, regardless of which IT supplier you choose. Of course, we hope you will think about CSE IT. Please contact us or schedule a meeting to discuss your IT requirements.
