I have a different perspective and would like to share with my friends. We can learn a lot from it.
Prithvi Shaw was once compared to Saching Tendulkar. However, there is one thing that makes Sachin stand out from the rest, his commitment and hardwork.
In India, cricket is the most followed sports and rest of the sports are way behind. Hence all the limelight comes on Indian cricketers. As soon as a young talent surfaces, entire media is after him, he is a overnight star.
From here the real test starts. All the opponents, especailly teams like Australia who do their homework well, start finding ways to get their opponent batsman out. They start finding weakness in their techniques, those minor flaws that can give them wickets. But the star, swayed by the new stardom, loses focus on improving his skills and techniques. Many promising cricketers has lost their way, after tasting success.
There is a big gap between national and international cricket. Prithvi Shaw lost in the stardom, lost focus on his career and got involved in things that acted as a barrier. If you don't utlize those opportunities, someone else will. There are many talented cricketers who are working hard to get into Indian team.
Consistently working on your skills and techniques is the only way to beat the competition at international level. Only talent is not enough, you need to constantly hone it. You have to perform consistently, keep yourself fit. Virat Kohli has also followed the path of Sachin to a major extent, but the commitment to improvement was hallmark of Sachin Tendulkar.

In India only 11 can be a part of an Indian cricket team. There are many upcoming talent who are constantly knocking the doors, harder everytime. It is almost impossible to get another opportunity.
To become another Tendulkar, you have to work harder than him, stay focused on your career, this is where I think Prithvi Shaw lost the way. Competition is so tough with so many players shining that he may become another Vinod Kambli.
There are many businesses who grow well and then just lose out in the market to new and emerging businesses. Can you name couple of them?
Thank you for reading.
Note: this article in based on my understanding and I can be completely wrong. The objective is to learn and grow, means no disrespect to Prithvi. We wish him the very best.
