What Evizone's social media efforts have uncovered!
In the early days of Covid I admit that I started to take LinkedIn more seriously…largely because I was not out and about like I normally am. I hoped that getting more active on LI and sharing my thoughts about secure messaging might lead to a dialogue with others who share my interest. Little did I imagine that 3 months later my posts and engagement would result in our company page growing from a couple of hundred Followers to almost 2,8000…with Visitors up 7,407%!!! Yikes!!!
What is really interesting is seeing who is visiting and following…thanks to LinkedIn Analytics. Not surprisingly, we are attracting Followers from areas where our software excels - secure communications and compliance. So we are getting a lot of new Visitors and Followers from Financial Services, Computer Networking and IT and Services. This is great because a lot of our early adopters are from these industries. Indeed, one of our launch clients is an American mid-size investment bank.
And not surprisingly, our incredible growth results have attracted folks who identify themselves in business development…asking for tips to grow their traffic. Of course we are glad to share what we have learned…
But what really surprises me is the number of followers from the Automotive Industry … which represents 28% of our Followers…the largest industry group by far! I asked one of my Evizone colleagues, who has over 10-years experience in the automotive industry with Chrysler, for his thoughts why so many people from the Automotive Industry might be interested in Secure Messaging and Compliance software. He speculated that this might be due to the industry’s deep interest…and substantial investments…in tech related to self-driving cars…but both of us agree that this not a very satisfactory or revealing answer by itself. What is the connection?
He then suggested that since my LinkedIn motivation is dialoging with like-minded people, that I ask our Followers for their thoughts – irrespective of whether they are in the Automotive Industry or not? So, what do you think? Why would 28% of our new Followers and 33% of our new Visitors come from the Automotive Industry?
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts…since it is an exciting mystery, yes?
