What is driving Indians to move to Canada?

There is no doubt that India is Canada's most prominent global talent source.

Canada welcomed over 405,000 immigrants in 2021, a record number. Indians make up nearly a third of these immigrants.

The country welcomed almost 450,000 international students last year, with Indians representing about 50% of this number.

There were also approximately 10,000 Indians sent to Canada as part of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program. In addition, more than 130,000 Indians were granted work permits under the International Mobility Program.

There is no doubt that international factors, as well as domestic factors, can play a significant role in the high rate of Indian immigrants to Canada.
