What If?

What If?

Ask yourself this question. What if you had to change roles with your clients? How would you feel if you received the level of service that you deliver to your clients?

In the digital marketing space, I have heard fellow marketers in the past make this comment.

It’s the client’s money, not mine.

First things first. That is an absolutely horrible sentiment and it should never come out of the mouth of someone in a service industry. Our field of employment is the product of our own choices. If our job makes us miserable, then we have to correct the issue. We only have one life and we cannot to spend it in a state of misery. Consider this. Most of us will spend more of our time at work, and with co-workers, than we do with our families. So, you really cannot compromise as it relates to your place of employment. Don’t let fear paralyze you. Don’t wake up one day with gray hair and a heart full of regrets. But, in the meantime, don’t punish your client.

You’re right. It IS your client’s money. And, they depend on that money to pay employees who depend on that money to take care of their families. So, we cannot be cavalier in our approach. We cannot simply sit back and let things happen. We must give our best.

So, back to the original question. What if you had to change roles with your clients? How would you feel if you received the level of service that you deliver to your clients? Would you continue to do business with you? Would you be satisfied with the results? These are tough questions. But they are the types of questions that, if answered honestly, could push your organization to new levels of efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
