What does your retirement look like?

You DO have a plan, don't you?

Are you one of the many busy professionals who still refuses to think about retirement and what that might mean for you?? Maybe you think it is too far in the future to think about – maybe you are one of the many who are constantly telling everyone that you are not going to retire.

The whole process of ending your working life and transitioning into retirement mode – whatever retirement means to you – is more difficult for expats than mere mortals.? After all, you will probably have to leave the country you have been working in, and move somewhere else.? That somewhere could be back to your home country, or a totally different one.

Wherever you have decided to live (and I really hope you have decided!), moving again, on top of stepping back from full-time work, is going to be a huge culture shock!

Wouldn’t it give you more peace of mind to know what your Retirement Plan is, and how you are working towards achieving it?

Retirement WILL happen

Like it or not, we cannot stop the ageing process.? And as Expats, there is often an expiry date on our visas.? That date is generally age 60, or thereabouts.? After that, we become very expensive, and too complicated, for most employers to keep us on.

So what happens when you approach that magical age, and your company starts discussing ‘winding down’ or ‘phasing you out’?? If you don’t have a plan in place, this will come as a complete shock.

Don’t leave it to anyone else to decide WHEN and WHERE you will retire.? Plan now.?

Plan your Retirement on YOUR Terms

Even if you are well away from that magical age, there is no time like the present to begin thinking about it.? Let me work with you; let’s figure out what retirement actually means to you (and it no longer means being consigned to a rocking chair on the veranda!).? Let’s work out what you would like to do, when you don’t have to work 24/7; where you want to do it – and maybe even who with!?

Let’s work on a Retirement Plan that you can actually look forward to.

Please don’t become one of the grey divorce statistics, where you and your other half have not really discussed what happens in life-after-work, and end up having totally different opinions, which cause irreconcilable differences, and end in divorce.

Ready to start that planning process now?? Then let’s have a quick conversation about where you are, and what working with me means, so we can move it forward for you – even if that means adding the plan to your files for now.?

At least you will have begun the thought process, and from there, can start the planning!

I work with expats to help them plan an exit strategy, and a retirement they can look forward to! Book a 30-minute call with me here, to talk about where you are in the planning, and what working with me looks like.
