What Does Your Regeneration Game Look Like?

330 billion. Nope, that’s not the number of scones consumed over the Coronation weekend. In fact, it’s the number of cells replaced in our bodies. Every day.

Mind-blowing, right?

And scientists reckon they’ve pinned down the speed and extent of this incredibly complex biological turnover. They discovered that fat and muscle last for an average of 12 to 50 years, but our blood cells only last three to 120 days. And unfortunately, for the warriors keeping our gut healthy – well, they have a life span of less than a week.

It’s a constantly shifting, growing and developing universe, right inside us. So much so, you could say you’ve got a new body every 100 days. If our cells are constantly changing, why don’t ‘we’ change as a person? That’s because our ‘sense of consciousness remains single and united’.

It’s a little like organisations, really.

Constant regeneration – folks moving on, acquisitions, new departments, merging of teams, new business. It’s up to employee experience teams to navigate these constant changes whilst ensuring the life blood of business – culture, mission, vision – are alive and kicking.

What does your regeneration game look like? And how do your comms flow with the changes?
