What does a year look like for an electronics recycler?

Social gatherings, hosting community events, and Saturday morning recycling collections were missed all throughout 2020. Thankfully, we got most of them back in 2021. It was truly an amazing year for us!?

To everyone who is just learning about us, eWaste ePlanet recycles electronics and takes care of your end-of-life data destruction needs. We understand that protecting company and personal data is an increasingly important issue due to data breaches seen throughout the world. Wiping HDDs to NIST 800-88 Standards or completely shredding it - whatever your qualifications for data destruction are, we can do it. Also, having a sustainability plan is more important than ever due to numerous environmental issues. Did you know most of your electronics can be recycled? Electronics have precious metals in them that we recycle rather than mining for new copper, iron, aluminum, gold, silver, or palladium. Our eco-friendly service allows us to keep these metals out of the landfill as we build out the circular economy.?

While electronics recycling is not as easy as recycling your paper and plastics in a curbside bin, there is still a need to have an outlet for proper disposal of electronics. In 2021, we were able to divert 2.6 million pounds of electronics waste from the landfill while providing complimentary data destruction on all devices. With our Certificate of Recycling we 100% guarantee data destruction on all data-bearing devices that enter our facility. Our Certificate of Recycling has helped many achieve their sustainability goals and boost their LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certifications. Thankfully, we were able to host our bi-annual events, which are Earth Day in April and America Recycles Day in November due to the support from our amazing property managers and surrounding city managers. Throughout the year we were able to provide over 400 direct-to-office pickups and held approximately 80 weeklong and weekend recycling events! Can you believe how many people were storing away old electronics? Our clients truly appreciated knowing they could have a secure and local recycler handle their electronics.?

eWaste ePlanet wants to continue to be a trusting, eco-friendly, and valuable company for all who may need our services. We were able to branch out this year to Colorado and parts of the Appalachian mountains to help those who may not have an electronics recycler near them. With our extensive logistics system, we look forward to making more of a nationwide present. Since 2013, our mission is providing innovative and cost-effective ways to divert reusable materials from the landfill.?

Already a month into 2022, eWaste ePlanet has huge plans for this year. First of all, we are extremely excited to announce that we are pursuing the soon to be named "gold-standard" certification electronics recycling & ITAD companies. We will be moving to a new warehouse with double the space in the spring. All thanks to our supporters we have the opportunity to expand more this year, even looking to add a few extra people to this great family. We are adding new services to help offices working remotely, and we have added a “Remote Return” electronics recycling program.?

What an amazing year to work with returning and new clients. Seeing your smiling faces at events and during drop-offs at our warehouse made all the difference in our team's day.
