What does a world where people work with robots —not like robots— look like?

We asked AI, who generated: “AI is enabling a future defined by partnership rather than replacement. Robots will amplify human potential and build new opportunities in the world– augmenting domains like healthcare, education, and manufacturing.”

  • The Imternational Telecommunication Union (ITU) AI for Good Global Summit is key in creating a future where people and robots work together for global benefits.
  • Robots can unlock new job opportunities and drive innovative breakthroughs for humans.
  • Education reforms are necessary to equip individuals for a future alongside robots.

Join us at the 2024 AI for Good Global Summit to view our robotic demonstrations and experience firsthand the synergy of human and machine interactions.

As we stand on the brink of new technological progress, the ITU AI for Good Global Summit serves to guide the global dialogue on the ethical integration of AI and robotics into our daily lives. The 2024 AI for Good Global Summit will showcase the potential of AI to address pressing global challenges and set the stage for envisioning a future where humans and robots collaborate.

This future involves a symbiotic relationship between humans and robots. As the United Nations emphasizes, "A key measure of our success is the extent to which AI technologies help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) " (United Nations, 2030 Agenda). In evaluating our progress, the integration of AI technologies emerges as a pivotal benchmark in the pursuit of the SDGs. This perspective brings to light the potential of AI as an essential tool in overcoming some of the most pressing global climate challenges.

The World Economic Forum highlights a significant shift in the future of jobs and the skills required for them. "The potential scope of automation and augmentation will further expand over the next few years with AI techniques maturing and finding mainstream application across sectors. It remains to be seen how technologies going through the most rapid changes, such as generative AI technology, may further change the make-up of automatable tasks over the 2023–2027 period with some recent studies finding that Large Language Models can already automate 15% of tasks. When combined with applications which can correct known issues with existing Large Language Models (such as factual inaccuracies), this share may increase to 50% " (World Economic Forum, Future of Jobs Report 2023).

Preparing for a future deeply intertwined with AI and robotics necessitates a paradigm shift in education. ITU’s initiatives underscore the critical importance of equipping the next generation with the comprehensive skills required to navigate and lead in a technologically advanced society.

As we envision this future, the ITU AI for Good Global Summit 2024 will unify guidance and collaboration in verticals such as technology, policy, and ethics – to serve as a platform for ensuring the benefits of AI and robotics are accessible to all. A future of human-robot collaboration is not only a possibility, but a cornerstone of a more inclusive, creative, and sustainable world.
