What does Vipassana has done to me?
For the past 33months, I am practising Vipassana Meditation, and here are the top things that I have experienced from it.
- First things first, meditation is not about religion, spirituality or God. It is far away from all these, and I keep insisting this a lot, and every time I talk about meditation, this is the first point I make about meditation. Then, what is it? It is all about awareness and equanimity. Vipassana aids to develop in us the faculties of awareness and equanimity thus we can lead a well-balanced life.
- Meditation has certainly sharpened my attention. It has reduced my mind-wandering habit pattern and thus has improved my ability to solve problems in my work and personal life.
- This 33 months of consistent meditation does seem to increase resiliency to stress. I am a lot calmer than before also not that reactive anymore.
- Meditation has made me more compassionate to many things including people and all other beings around. The shining example is that I turned vegan 21 months ago. Loving-kindness is the best thing that has happened to me, I firmly believe.
- The fear of the future is reduced dramatically.
- My biases for different things and for different people have reduced and have changed for the better, and thus leading to peaceful living without too many judgements.
How much time do I practice a day? I devote two hours to meditation, one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening; and there are days, I miss too. But I am committed to two hours a day and mostly adhere to it.

4 年Vipassana can transform life. I have been a meditation practitioner for 2 decades and Vipassana has made me who I am. The first thing you will understand in Vipassana is What is truly Dharma. If we had Vipassana included in our schools, India would be far better and far more united. Everyone should do one 10 day Vipassana program for realize our own potential.
