What Does It Take?

Every day, we witness the staggering statistics on sexual assault and harassment, particularly within institutions we trust and depend on. The NHS, for instance, has been under scrutiny for alarmingly high numbers of reported cases. It's shocking to see such high figures in an environment dedicated to care and safety. Despite this, when confronted with the necessity of certified preventative sexual harassment training, many organisations respond with, "Oh, we've got it covered." This response is all too familiar, often accompanied by messages on LinkedIn asserting that these said organisations already have an in-house team.
However, one must question: are these teams truly effective? Do they meet the stringent requirements of the EHRC technical guidance? As the UK's only company dedicated solely too the eradications of sexual harassment within the workplace, our training courses not only meet but exceed employers statutory duties, ensuring comprehensive and robust prevention measures. So, what does it take to get organisations to comply with these new laws?
The Daily Battle for Awareness
We post every single day solely on this topic, raising awareness about the pressing need for certified preventative sexual harassment training. With 3,000 of you following us, ignorance is not an excuse. The reality of sexual harassment in the workplace is not a distant problem- it's here, it's pervasive, and it demands immediate action.
What Will It Take?
What will it take to prompt action? Will it require one of your family members to be sexually harassed before the urgency is recognised? Must your business come under the scrutiny of the EHRC before you decide to comply with the law? These questions aren't hypothetical; they are the harsh reality that many face.
The Cost of Inaction
Waiting for these terrible things to happen is not only irresponsible but dangerous. The cost of inaction is too high. By delaying compliance and ignoring the need for proper training and policies, organisations put their employees at risk and expose themselves to severe legal and reputational repercussions.
Proactive Measures: The Path Forward
It's time to take proactive measures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for everyone. Compliance with the new law is not just about ticking a box; it's about fostering a workplace where respect and safety are paramount. The Worker Protection Act 2023, which comes into force on October 26th, mandates stricter measures for safeguarding employees against sexual harassment. Our training goes above and beyond statutory requirements, providing comprehensive strategies to prevent sexual harassment before it occurs.
The Call to Action
We urge all organisations to act now. Don’t wait for a crisis to enforce action. Implement the necessary training and policies and create a workplace culture that stands firmly against sexual harassment. The solution is within reach, and the time to act is now.
By being proactive, you not only comply with the law but also demonstrate a commitment to the well-being and safety of your employees. It's time to move beyond mere compliance and strive for excellence in creating safe, respectful, and inclusive workplaces.
